Me hitchhiking
When you’re hitchhiking to the store for milk n’ cookies (not really)

Hey, my friend!

I’m glad you’re swinging by. I’m the guy behind Global Dane.

I was born in Denmark in 1991. My love for traveling started at an early age when I took my first virtual world trip playing the iconic Pink Panther: Passport to Peril game on my Windows 95.

Besides the occasional family trips as a kid where ice cream, french fries, and seawater were indulged in an equal amount. A bit later in life, I found my trustworthy source of happiness in exploring unknown lands, turning strangers into friends, and challenging my view of the world.

Everything I create is purely motivated by a passion for traveling (preferably on a lower-end budget).

Join me on my unfiltered travels on YouTube or here on the website.

And if you have something on your mind, don’t hesitate to send me a so-called electronic mail. I’m always up for a chat.

Best wishes

5 Random Facts About Me

1. Fact: My First Solo Trip Was to Miami (2014)

Everyone remembers their first solo trip.

Mine changed my life.

It was also the first time I ever stayed at a hostel.

Uber vibes (literally)

Besides having one of the best trips of my life, it also taught me that you don’t need anyone else to travel.

After that trip I knew, that being lonely is most often a choice.

It also switched my focus from more materialistic goals to the more simple things in life.

And most of all had the biggest impact on my passion for traveling.

2. Fact: Techno Is My Drug

This might not come as a surprise after the previous point.

Hint: Miami.

I can’t think of any other things that give me more instant euphoria, happiness, and appreciation of life.

NB: And no, drugs aren’t and have never been my thing.

Once a Bieberliever always a beaver (I’m on the right)

It’s like I was born with two brains with each of their daily energy reserves, and whenever I find myself at a great event, it’s like my secondary Techno brain just takes over from scratch.

My taste in the genre has changed over the years.

But If I had to show one track to explain my taste the best, it’s this one by SHDW & Obscure Shape (not EDM).

3. Fact: I’m a Muay Thai Nerd

I started training in martial arts when I was around 14 years old.

At the time it was Wing Chun (Kung Fu). But not for a long time.

A few years after that I started MMA (Mixed Martial Arts). Even though I only trained for around 6 months, it’s still the reason my nose is a bit unaligned today.

Training Muay Thai
I swear that bag said something about my mom!

But after a break of many years, I found my love for Muay Thai back in 2017, and have been training ever since.

Including training intensively in Thailand for over a year in total on different trips.

If you ever visit Thailand, I highly suggest you try a session. It’s their national sport after all.

πŸ“Œ TIP: I actually wrote a guide on Muay Thai training in Thailand, in case it sounds interesting to you.

4. Fact: I Started My First Business When I Was 18

I’ve been an entrepreneur most of my adult life.

And had several businesses since then. Some succeeded and some failed.

My most significant success is the European E-commerce group called Wallstickerland.

One of our wall sticker designs in action

We managed to build a team of 11 employees at one time and become market leaders in our industry in Scandinavia.

Before I sold my shares back in 2018, we managed to reach over 60,000 customers from all over Europe.

5. Fact: I Used to Be Overweight

Long story short; at my highest, I weighed 257 lbs/116,4 kg.

At my lowest, I weighed around 196 lbs/89 kg.

Which is equal to a total weight loss of 60 lbs/27,4 kg.

My transformation from 257 lbs/116,4 kg. to 95 kg. = Goodbye extra 209 lbs/21,4 kg. you won’t be missed!

I know the sign is in the way.

But unfortunately, I don’t have any better before photos to compare with.

Blame my high-level ninja skills for avoiding cameras as much as possible (I let you guess why).
